I have a problem with 5th gear on my 95 impreza import, I spoke to someone and they said it may be the synchronizer hub. He also said he wouldn't take the car on because its to hard to get the parts. There is no one else in my area does gearbox's.
So I'm just asking the question but do you need to pull the engine out to be able to get at the box or can you undo it from underneath leaving the engine in place?

Also does anyone know where to get parts :- Synco Hub, Clutch etc

You can change the 5th gear syncro without taking the box out, it sits in the rear casing, I would estimate about 4hrs for someone experienced.

 

You dont know where i can get one from do you?

 

I may have one, I'll have a look tomoz, have you tried phoning the subaru breakers?
