Default bang on gear change

hi all
when i press the clutch to change gear i get a bang from the exhaust. my mate was following me the other day and noticed that every time i changed gear i got a pop and a flame which he described as what happens to rally cars when they change gear. any clues to why this happens and is it a major problem. it does not have a flame kit
cheers
jay

Mine does it too and it annoys the crap out of me. Just doesn't seem right.

Have you got a vent-to-atmosphere BOV? If so that could be causing it. My tuner reckons that mine is caused by my 3" exhaust.
