surging boost.....!!!!!!!!

Default surging boost.....!!!!!!!!

hi,

i have a 03 wrx it has 3"de-cat, 3" milltek cat back and collins d/v these are the only engine mods.the boost is surging,sometimes holding back an somtimes boosts fine. really really annoying

someone please help me before i smash it up!!!!!!!!

Its very likely you need either a remap or a non OE boost controller, I've no direct experience, but its not an uncommon problem with decat DP's and TD04's.

Same problem here with a 51 WRx but to make it more confusing the only mod is a cat back system fitted yesterday and the problem started before that?

It' overboosting, the ECU is compensating using it's boost control strategy, you probably only notice it in higher gears. As mentioned, using an aftermarket boost controller or a remap will sort this.
