Boost cut

Boost cut
Hi, I have a sti v3 which is standard apart from a group n panel filter and full decat exhaust. Since fitting the zorst, under hard load it will cut boost when at around 4,000 rpm,the only way to avoid this is by gradually feeding in the throttle, any ideas as to why this is happening would be appreciated,
Cheers guys.

you need to change the restrictor pill in the pipe bewteen the turbo outlet and actuator.
Make the hole v.slightly larger i.e about 0.05mm to start with.
see https://www.scoobynet.com/general-te...ter-pills.html
ideally though get the car remapped (1997/1998 require ECU swap) to run with the exhaust/filter mods as the V3-V5 sTI can start to run a little lean with these mods.
This will also allow a bit more boost to be run, so benefits all round.

Ok thanks mate, will changing the restrictor pill cause any other problems?
Also what kind of gains would a remap/ecu get me and would any other mods be needed? (Its also got uprated fuel pump as mine packed up)
I will eventualy get round to mapping it but at the mo just simply cant afford it as apexi etc are very expensive unless 2nd hand, which are rare as ****!

Sounds like fuel cut to me but as mentioned above by scott by enlarging the pill this should sort it out.....or a remap will reap you the rewards you;ve been looking for when modifying your motor.
Possibly speak to Simon @ www.jollygreenmonster.co.uk aswell for more ecu advice and tips.
Good Luck

Cheers for the replys, one more question. Ive been reading that the pills come in 0.5,0.8,1.0,1.2 and 1.5, would i have to modify my existing one as it only needs to be slightly bigger or can you buy one ready made as fitting a 1.2 would be a big back step in terms of boost?
