rear pads are squealing not only when i brake but during normal driving aswell, ive had them apart today to find that the pads are not even half worn.all the shims are where they should be and the discs are fine.i did notice the pads are slightly shiny.would this be the cause? its really enoying! ive ordered another set of pads hoping this will sort it.is there anything else it could be?

Small bit of gravel trapped between caliper and disc, or backplate and disc, etc?

The calipers may need a good clean or service. Ensure you put some copper grease on the shims/pads and calipers when you put the pads back in.

It could be cheap pads fella that's all.
