Default new scooby owner

hi guys,

ive just become the proud owner of a impreza terzo and am really enjoying the car but have a few questions of just little things that im not really sure of. basically the main problem is when im driving the car sometimes when i dip the clutch stopping for a roundabout etc the revs seem to drop below where it should idle like it is going to cut out but doesnt then settles correctly. the previous owner did clean the engine not sure how though i presume with water do you think this could couse this the car is standard bar exhaust, filter and dump valve it is a big cone filter though do these bring on problems
any help much appreciated.
