Hi ive got 2 problems with my subaru impreza 1998 version 4. the first one being that i have a bad burning smell coming from the engine bay and also a little smoke the other day from by the up pipe and turbo. ive heard alot of people on here experienced the same prob and said the cam cover gasket needs replacing. took it to my local garage today and they said my oil filter is leaking and needs replacing together with oil change???? Would this cause my problem.
2nd being when im driving slow or even rolling im getting a squak sound from the front drivers side wheel and done a check on here again and alot of people have encountered the same prob with the cause being wheel bearing needed replacing. My garage said there was no play in the wheel and said my brake pads needed replacing as they were worn? Would this cause the squaking. Just need to get a second opinion as i dont want to fork out money and not have my problems resolved. Any suggestions would be great. thanks
