Whats stopped working, the OE Rev counter or the aftermarket Tacho.

I have removed all OE dials and installed a custom dash cluster including a Tacho, the only way I could make it work was to pinch a feed from the coil supply wire.

If it was working correctly to begin with then I would stick with using that signal wire. For it to stop working means either the Tacho has failed or a loose connection.

I have the coil pack on top of the manifold. There are 3 wires feeding it & 2 are 'pulse' wires. One wire controls 1 side of the coil cylinder 1&3, the other controls 2&4. I took the the feed from 1 of the pulse wires but had to tell the tacho the engine was a 2 Cylinder.

thanks very much for the replies, ill have to take a look at the tacho itself as it was working but now it just says SET and none of the buttons do anything,
by the way simon, just waiting for the turbo to be fitted with new seals (dont ask, long story) and ill be giving you a call, thanks again,
phil.
