Default Classic engine

I have a 1995 wrx import, are the uk and import engines the same? if not what are the differences? The reason I ask is my engine blew up on thursday and am looking for a replacement and hoping a uk may be ok. Where would you recommend trying to get an engine from?

i'd get some advice. having had a uk car in the past i know the cams are different, when i fitted a power fc to mine because i was advised not to run my uk car on a jap ecu. Also had to swap 2 of the pins around where the plugs go into the ecu to get the car to run.
