Default WARNING LIGHT NEED HELP

call me dumb but im new to this whole jap car thing and the meaning of this warning light is escaping me. iv looked around to see if i can find out what it means but iv had no joy so i turn to you guys for advice
this is my situation when i put power down the car judders and splutters as if cutting all power like it was going to stall and flashes this light in a dim light no power kind of way

can any one tell me what the light is and a possible cause of it ?
other than that the car runs fine at low revs and if i ease off runs as normal with no light showing on the dash

finally making progress my car is a m reg 93 sti running around 300bhp i have spoke to carnetix and they advice me to try changing the plugs as it sounds like a misfire to them and they say the cat on fire light is a stand alone system and doesn't go through the engine management so it rules a diag out to help with the problem

As far as i know you can just unplug the sensor to stop the light coming on.
I think it's a white round plug near the air filter.

Have you decatted the car?

i dont know if it is decated for def or not as iv only had the car 6 mounth and had no reason to look as yet the guy i brought it off was unsure weather it had or not and im not laying on the floor outside in the snow to find out. im told it is but i cant say for sure. if i unplug the sensor will it still cut the power and judder under accelerating and just stop the light comming on or should it solve the problem as the sensor is not reading

tbh i wouldn't have laid in the snow find out either

It will stop the light coming on (it will still come on when you switch the ignition on though).
It it has been decatted i'm not sure why that light should come on unless the sensor is still in place which is unusual.

As for the juddering coil packs and spark plugs would be the first to thing to check (coilpacks can crack and the spark plugs may be old, incorrectly gapped or the incorrect ones)

thats the conclusion i had come up with so im off to town to get some new plugs this sarvo and will check the coil packs when i change them. after talking to carnetix they suggested using automotive silicone to seal them with if they are cracked in any way just as a temp thing to diagnose the problem . if i do this and it solves the problem at least i know what the problem is and can then rectify fully
cheers for the advice wish me luck
