HI PEEPS AM NEW HERE HOPE YOU CAN HELP HAVE JUST BOUGHT A 95 WRX SCOOB WITH 50K ON IT COMPLETELY STANDARD ITS BEEN SITTING FOR APPROX 6 MONTHS , BUT WHEN YOU DRIVE IT JUST BEFORE TURBO COMES IN ITS LIKE ITS BEING STARVED OF FUEL THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT TAKES OFF ...LIKE HALF A SECOND OF NOTHING .. GETTING A FULL SERVICE TOMORROW INC FUEL FILTER BELTS COOLENT ETC .. CAN ANYONE HELP ON WOT THIS MAYBE

 

yep sounds like overboost to me mate. Get the boost solenoid cleaned out and check all pipe connections.

 

got a v3 type r and just fitted a blitz induction filter and exactly the same thing happening of for a remap soon.

 

How can it be overboost if it's before the turbo kicks in ?

More likely to be spark related I would have thought.

 

so coil pack and spark plugs then or just the plugs in the meantime and see how we go

 

The coil packs on a 95 are not the best, I just replaced mine. Common to see the spark go out due to cracks on coil packs. Or could be that it has sat for 6 months and they are damp or the contact has tarnished. Either way worth a look to check their condition.
