Exclamation

I have recently fitted a Forge motorsport twin piston type valve on MY93 WRX..
After having other turbo cars I found that the valve was pretty quiet and was wondering if there were any reasons for this??
Also how can I test to see if the valve is opening at correct time as I know sometimes the valve can open too early causing probs.

Has anyone had experiences with Dump valves before??
I am thinking of going back to the standard recirc valve

I have just fitted one aswell, it is very quite I was told that it would lossen up a little in time and get louder.
I got one for the sole reason to hopefully get FLAMEOUTS. I DID NOT! SEE MY OTHER POST IF YOU CAN HELP ME.

Vent to atmosphere.
Mine does not seem to release the presure very quickly. I drove another roo a year or so ago, which had a atmos valve and that was very noisy, it was a very sharp fast woosh almost a hiss. This one on my car is quite a prolonged noise, i`m not saying it is wrong, but it is just a comment. I`m sure someone with far more knowledge than myself self can shed some light on the matter.
As for flameouts, when you back off from high revs and full throttle a lot of people say their cars pop and bang and even spit flames from the tail pipe as you see on the wrc cars and circuit cars.

It could be the type of spring fitted in the DV. I know that the Forge DV used on the MY01 comes with two types of spring - red and blue (I think). Pete (Scoobysport) recommended using the tighter red sping as this releases the pressure more quickly. As it stands, this means that my Forge DV is not quite so noisey as some around, but it is also doing a better job and does appear to hold the boost better - my car with a full SS system and DV feels very similar to my old MY00 now - certainly in terms of acceleration.

I've got a Forge fitted to my MY99 and have tried both red and blue springs. Running with the blue at the moment, its a lot louder and you can get some really loud pops (not sure about flames) but fuel consumption is badly affected. I'll be lucky to get 150 miles from a tank. So I'll be swapping back to the red spring and trying that again for a while.

After contacting Forge about the valve they sent me a new spring and some spacers... The blue spring is loudest for definate I am now running blue spring with two spacers which seems effective!!

Hmmm, I've got a Bailey piston dump valve and that's very quiet too compared with the one I used to have on my old R5 GTT. Maybe I just need a little more boost...........
