Default Prodrive Sports downpipe question

Would it make any difference if I swapped out my standard downpipe for a Sports Cat downpipe, leaving the rest standard (apart from H&S backbox)? Im collecting all the bits gradually and was wondering if it would do any harm swapping it out? I have an 04 STI.

Thanks

The sports cat is free-er flowing than your current standard cat therefore the car should be mapped once it is fitted. You are best fitting the full system in one go then remap..

ps. your b/b will make little difference

Your ecu may throw a CEL, mine did !

Once fitted you will notice an improvement in throttle response, I did and it did feel a little quicker...

But once re-mapped it went from 265 to 340 bhp NICE !

sorry rather than starting a new post can i just add to this, about remaps? im willing to do the same, adding a sport cat downpipe and also a centre section to my ninja back box (leaving main centre cat standard) cant afford a remap yet, so as long as no lights pop up can it wait for a while or is it a must do?, i know i wont get the full benefit til the remap is complete

thanks

dunx, when you fitted the sports cat downpipe was the cel light the only issue? What car do you have?

Has anyone else fitted just a sportscat downpipe leaving the rest standard? Any feedback would be great. I still cant afford 600 notes on a remap but would like to fit the sportscat as long as it will cause no damage.....
