next stage power, sti8.
was wondering what anyone thinks should be my next stage of modifications for my sti8.at present,i have a td05 20g, front mount intercooler,k+n typhoon induction kit,rcm headers fully wrapped,3inch exhaust system, with magnex twin dump downpipe, ohh, plus remap to suit.im runnin 350 bhp with about 330lbt.when mapped,i was told my injectors where running 95%duty cycle and im at max boost on the ecutek software.just wondering if theres anything i could do to sqeeze a touch more power out of it without getting a standalone ecu and injectors?. thanks in advance, pete.

Have you thought about tweeking the suspension and chassis to make the power you've already got safer and faster ? VMS to see why my 265PS WRX was never found lacking against machines with 400bhp+ Driver training is also a major performance upgrade I certainly gained more speed in a few hours of professional tuition than a few thousand spent at any garage could have ever given !

thanks simon, sorry for being a bit simple, but if the guy who mapped mine said its on max boost for the ecutech software, how does a boost controller change that.ps, thanks also corradoboy,i do deffinatly need to upgrade my suspension, feels very fluffy with the extra power.

you can run higher boost than that on the ecutek but you lose a boost cut so if anything happens it will just boost higher and higher and you lose the control on it.
A boost controller will controller it higher although again you lose the boost cut, depending on which controller you use.
the ecutek is fine with controlling the fuel and ignition etc and have a boost controller to control the boost, or use ecutek to go higher.

the two maps only alters boost level so with a boost controller there is therefore no need for the two
I would talk to Mark @ Lateral Performance regarding injectors.
I can supply and fit boost controller and of course remap it
Thanks

Alternatively fit a good quality FPR and raise the base-line pressure by 0.5 bar, this gives 16 % more flow, I did this as mine are likely to be near to maxing out.

I'd also go for the FPR over injectors as its an easier job.
BTW, flow will increase by 8% for 0.5 bar increase as its a square root relationship between flow and pressure.
I'm getting 380 hp on 550 injectors raised by 0.5 bar and at 85% duty.
As for the boost controller, check if the STi08 ECU uses the "2004 internal boost" channel to see more than 1.55 bar boost?
If so then combined with a 3 port solenoid, a controller may not be required.

I am running 350bhp on a STi8 with vf35 @1.5bar and 3 port solenoid. Injectors are at 91% mapped by Andy F. No boost controller and still have boost cut on really really cold days(like we are having now).
M8 also has a STi8 with ECUtek runnin over 1.7bar on a Garret (cant remeber which 1) and is 423bhp mapped by Pat H. He has no boost issues.
Would fit a FPR are get injectors bench flowed to a higher CC rather than pay out all that money for new injectors.
