Default car sounds like it has antilag.....Argh!!

Hello i just put another engine into car and its not running right.When the turbo kicks in it like drops pressure and bangs n splutters.The boost guage will not go above 0.5.Av tried a few thngs but starting to get scunnered with it. Any help wud b apreciated ta

Sounds like the ECU is in limp home mode for some reason ... reset ECU first.

Also could it be that the pipes from the boost solenoid to the compressor nozzle and WG are the wrong way round?!

I had a similar problem with the boost and it was down to my boost solenoide, changed it to the 3 port solenoide and the boost came back up to 1.2 bar. Also pops and bangs, have u got a dump valve fitted? i had a problem with loosing pressure through it due to the spring being weak, which caused pops and bangs.

Yes i do have a bailys dump valve...cud i blank it off and try that or would that do damage?

Did you check the spark plugs (and coil packs if any) when you replaced the engine? Misfiring as boost comes on might be caused by one of these.

you havent put the 1 injector plug on the wrong one have you? it will be fueling at the wrong time there for popping and banging? there all the sa me plug. seen it done.

Baily DV and not very good as they leak, HKS are ment to be the best money can get.
