would a 97 wrx import engine be a direct swap for my uk spec turbo 2000 97 engine as the crank has gone in it and need a replacement but its difficult to find a 97 - 98 turbo 2000 engine

also would there be much gain in performance

if you use your turbo and injectors, maf, etc.. then there should be no issue..

I beleive the cams are the same which otherwise would be another issue.

only way to get performance gain would be to use wrx turbo and rthen get it mapped etc

if i get the wrx ecu and that will i be able to use all the turbo and wrx ancillaries and then would i gain performance cheers

yes.. but you need to move some pins at the ecu on the loom..

you would need to get the wrx injectors and maf and turbo.

there is an engine on ebay out of a 97 wrx import and i have asked what comes with it but no reply as of now so im hoping he gets back to me and i get the complete package
