Default running like a pig

i have been running my car on super unleaded and it was running great. it is a 2002 sti type uk prodrive. i picked up the wrong pump at the petrol station and filled it to the top with normal unleaded. since doing this it runs like a pig. it seems very lumpy and i seem to have to give it quite a few revs to pull away or it seems to want to stall. also if i lift my foot off the gas to change gear i get a very loud bang from the exhaust. is this normal for normal unleadedor could it be something else.

cheers

Diesel ?

Sorry, just get some octane booster and chuck it in !

Don't give the car to much hammer till half gone, then add SUL to the top.

imho

Yes - it's the petrol.

Drive slowly for that tank then put proper stuff back in it
