Hi i pulled out of my drive this morning,drove 300 yards down the road to the junction only find my brakes did not want to work the brake pedal was really stiff and i had to jump on it and use my hand brake to stop the car, i pulled into the garage and went forward a backwards a few times using my brakes and they slowly came back to life,they have worked perfectly ok on the way home from work but they put the wind up me this morning. Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong with them, all brake fluid levels are ok and i cannot see any leaks please help

Has your car been standing long? or were the brake discs subjected to some rather bad weather last night?

Hi Tony , my car was only used yesterday and then parked on my drive for the night but there was some heavy rain last night.

what pads/discs you got? how old are they?

there was a bulliten about this aged ago somthing to do with road salt glazing the discs and affecting brake performance untill rubbed of

the pads and discs are om and they were all replaced about 20000 miles ago about 2 1/2 years, they all look in good nick
