Default Confusing problem

Hi everyone. I bought a 1997 Impreza Sport 2.0 with a duff clutch. Change the cluthc, car was fine for about a month. Then the HG went. So, took the engine out, changed it, refurbed the head as well. After that the car had a hunting idle with a slight misfire. OK in the rest of the rev range. So I changed the coilpack and leads but didnt make a difference. Decided to remove manifold and clean everything inc the ICV. After putting it back together my problems grew worse. When you first start it the revs jump to 3k, then slowly goes down to idle. However, the idle speed is so slow, it's almost stalls.
Now I've checked all the hoses, connectors etc over and over, everythings fine. I also bought a new ICV, but it's completely different to the one on there. My one has a black label. Checking on ebay, I can only find them in the states, and they're for a legacy 2.2.
I have a suspicion now that it's a EJ22 engine. This is my first subaru, so I don't really know much about them. Here's some pics:

Is that an EJ22 engine, and are my problems down to the ICV?
Cheers

If you have changed one of the head gaskets, you should know what bore size you have tbh.
If you are still unsure, have a look behind the oil pressure switch and it is clearly marked on the block
