I am on the verge of converting to v5/6 from v3/4 and have my spare sti3 heads and bits and pieces... we might have some bits to swap?

Apparently yes - the cams supposedly have a different curvature...but lobes apparently measure up the same..but i'm just quoting what i have read as i have no V3 cams to compare against my V4's.

Hope that helps

no they are not..

if you have a 94~98 car then sti3 heads are the best for the job standard fit that will bolt straight on and work..

Sti5/6 heads are actusally better.. both in flow and cam profiles and duration.

Its a myth from long ago when only really 98 and earlier cars were being ripped apart and made far better

However newage Sti AVCS heads are better still..

just the hassles involved with fitting depends on what year car you are using.

sti3 are better than sti4 and better than any other 98 or earlier head / cams as standard yes.. they have a longer duration of valve open time and the lifters and valves allow the highest rev limit etc
