Worn piston rings or worn turbo , as you say must be burning it if no leaks .

Where would be the best place to start or how can i test for them. The engine has had a complete rebuild 35000 miles ago it is currently on 60000. It cost him £3900 to get done so should i go for the turbo being knackered and how do you test for it?? Thanks
