Default oil catch tank

ive got a 93 import and was wandering if they come standard with these because i have a black plastic bottle thing behind the drivers light 2 pipes going into it at the top and what im guessing is a soak away pipe at the bottom which just goes to nothing any ideas

Catchs the vapours from the fuel tank instead of them being vented to the air.

ah i see so where would an oil catch tank go if i had one or brought 1 what pipes go to and from it and what benefits ect whats involved

tbh no idea you could use the search engine although it's a bit limited or have a look in the 'Projects' section.
Benefits are stopping crap and sludge being re routed back into the intake tract of the car (e.g. oil contamination in the boost hoses and intercooler)

shaun, as I understand it...

The point of venting oil vapours either to air - or catching them in a tank (to be discarded later, when near full) - is to maintain the integrity of the fuel. The otherwise recirc'd oil vapours can effectively reduce its octane rating, which isn't good for high-power, turbo motors.
