Default STI5 ECU in a STI V4?

Just wondered if anyone has put an STI5 ECU (or 2) in their STIv4.

IIRC the V5 can be remapped?

And if there is any guides how to splice one to the other. Would be cheaper than a 850 quid simtek jobbie.

The ecus between are version 4 and version 5 are of a different fitment, so can not be swapped. Would be easier to get either simtek or apexi ecu.

Different fitment yes. But is it possible to splice the sti5 ecu into my sti4 loom. Im sure it must be possible. Just a question of working out what goes to what surley?

Noone done it?

If its anything more than a couple of days work i guess i just wont bother. There is alot of stuff for the Evo's and their ECU's, was hoping similar for the scoob.

Not worth the hassle. I have a V5 engine in a V3 car (using V3 ecu), was a nightmare due to ICSV and coil packs etc.

Without doubt the best solution is simtek or PFC.

ok.

So what about fitting a simtek then? is it a case of plug and play? How will it interact with my alarm/immob/tracker?
rekon i could probably save 3-400 quid buying a second hand one then getting a good map if i can work out how to fit it myself.
