Is it feasible to get the rear screen off a Jap WRX or STi (old shape we're talking about here), wiper motor, wiring and switch gear and fit it a UK spec car so I can have a rear wiper?

I can't really see any major problems unless it's all bolted to the solid bulkhead that these jap cars have...

Sounds strange.....what happens if an import car shatters a screen?
The 4 door shells are the same so surely they must be the same screens..

I don't think they are the same tint Jap and UK windows, let alone the same fitment

Don't P1s have rear wipers?

Is the rear screen on the 2 door a different shape?

If not you could use one of those.

I appreciate that the Jap cars have a tint on the rear window and could live with that but I can't believe that the rear window on a 4 door Jap car is a different shape to that on 4 door UK car..... They all come out of the same factory don't they?

 

The window fitment on uk and Japs are the same so should be no probs..

Obviously there might need to be some adjustments made to fix in wiper motor

If I recall, closest (geographically) to us to get a rear wiper is Cyprus. Not like it rains much there though

It rains like bugg*ry out there at this time of year! I think they get standard Jap cars out there from what I remember.

 

They must be available as my P1 has one...... cant imagine if it shatters they will need to got to Japan to obtain a new on.

 

P1s have a rear wiper.
The front screen on my sti5 type R needed replacing and as far as i know was replaced with a std scooby screen. I cant see the rear being a different shape at all, just wouldnt make sense production wise

I've spoken to a few breakers who say that it is do-able and can supply me with the parts; just waiting on prices....
