Default HKS DE-Cat Dp

Hi all, im new to the scooby world so please bear with me

And yes this has probablt been asked over and over but i cant seem to find the right thread.

But i just bought my first Scooby turbo and its fitted with a HKS de-cat Dp. I believe scoobies have 2 cats... am i right..

So in effect there should be one left.

Is that enough to get it throught the MOT.

Will it pass with the decat Dp >?

regarding emissions then it wont pass with just the second.

...but the good news is I can see your car is a '94, and if its a import then it will pass without cats anyway!

....you may get some hassle off some garages but just tell them to look it up on their system!

The 94 year only has the one cat in the dp, so without it, it won't pass im afraid. You can pick them up cheap enough.

I do believe looking at his profile it's Turbo 2000 (T2000?).

I think you may have trouble getting it to pass with the DP cat removed but your best solution is to take it somewhere where you can get the emissions tested before the MOT.

A turbo 2000 has 2 cats, one in the down pipe and one in the centre section, all turbo 2000's are the same.
Classic JDM cars only have 1 cat, that being in the down pipe (both wrx's and STI's) with a resonator centre section.

New age cars are slightly different, the UK/euro WRX's have 3 cats, one in the up pipe, one in the down pipe and one in the centre section.
New age UK/euro STI's have 2 cats, one in the down pipe and one in the centre section

JDM cars are different again, their STI's only have 1 cat in the down pipe, not sure on the wrx's but would say they probably dont have the cat in the up pipe.

Hope that clarifies everything

Tony

Thanks for that toni

well all it says on the logbook is a impreza Turbo...Im pressuming its a 2000.

So hopefully if it is a 2000 as i think it is, then the one cat on the centre section of the exhuast should be fine to get through the MOT.

i hear run the car real hot, take it in for a test, and ask them to test the emissions first nicley. If you do still have the one CAT it might be best to try and make that cat work as efficiently as possible for the test.
