The JDM has shorter gear, similar to the RA, but with a diffenent 5th/6th.
I was thinking of the six speed too, and as i have the 180 rear diff, the JDM would be good as it uses the same.

i have a 93 ra but unsure if the rear diff is still original?? i know the box was changed at some point.
how do i check as it would be a boost if it was suitable for the 6 speed

Look at this chart, you can see the gear ratios and matching diffs. It seems the 93 RA has a 4.1 diff, which none of the 6 speeds are compatibal with.

well i aint running any car at the mo, the car i'm building is a 96 wrx but is getting the full works

JDM 6 speeders have a shorter 5th and 6th gear, the first 4 are the same, they are also built with better parts (not the gears but smaller parts, example being the use of plastic bits in uk gearboxes and metal in the JDM) and the spec c gearbox has a few more uprated bits.
