Default gearbox question

I've got a my99 uk its running 320bhp the gearbox went, so i got a recon box fitted and guess what, same thing - 3rd gear can be selected but wont drive. So what should i put in there?As i want to try and get more power should i try a different box?

If you,re after more power then ideally you want a 6 speed, or a PPG, these will be costly how-ever.

Or a 5 speed STI box (plus diff if JDM). I did this, box ain't as heavy as some people say (obviously never done a land rover box, a man's box that one is) and went in no problem, same with diff, just take your time and you'll be ok and quids in. Several regular specialists on this very forum have told me its good for 380 bhp and not as fragile as people would have you believe. Of course don't take my word for it, do your own research and don't be pressurised into making an overkill decision. Oh it cost £900 delivered plus a gallon of oil. .

That price did include the JDM diff as well i should add.
