what sort of power can these be taken too without having to get sti heads

The heads are exactly the same casting. It's the cams, springs, buckets and shims that are different.

You'd probably struggle to get anymore than 450bhp through the UK 2000 valve train. This is because the cams aren't as aggressive so the valves don't open as far or for as long and at a higher rev limit the shims are likey to vacate the buckets and cause massive problems.
