I'm sure according to the SIDC FAQ that STi engines redline at 8250rpm.

I've just looked at that stunning STi2 for sale in the For Sale section and it looks like it redlines at 7000 like the UK ones do.

I'm confused.

Can anyone shed any light?

STi 3's onward had the higher red line due to the solid tapits , the STi 2's had hydraulic tapits which will if revved high enough over pump .
