Default engine build

right guys need some answers and cost from people in the know, i have mailed some tuners but still waiting them to get back to me.

i want to uprate the internals on my p1 block although i am going for 400 and have been told on a few occasions that th eblock should be ok i would rather be safer than sorry and build the engine to last at that level so i thought i should build it first. i have been thinking about it for a while and i have decided to go for a 450 build as i wish to make sure it is reliable and give me room to go further at a later date even though for now i will only be running 400'ish as i will have to save some more money for the gearbox to be done.

can someone tell me what i will need for to get for the block and at what cost it will be so i can start pulling in the money i need

thanks

steve

Our demo is going very nicely with effortless torque. Feel free to ring and have a no obligation chat with Alan on 01752 345880.
We have one of these in our demo car so I can arrange a test drive if you want to see what it is like.

scoobyclinic's sc450 package would do that reliably in a heartbeat, in fact many have and do

i agree mate but i have most of the supporting mods sorted just waiting for the new year to bring me a md321h so i would assume for 2-3k (at a guess) i could have my block built so that should save a 6k difference on the price of the package.

just some of the supporting mods, front mount, oil cooler, ecu o and the ppg gearbox lol.

not sure as of yet, might be above the spec of an sc450 or might go down that route, not in any major hurry due to lack of the almighty pound lol but ideal looking at 2.33 closed deck and cranking it over 500, but want it to last rather than 6 months and pop

this is where i am at, with the supporting mods and a md321h i should see 400 with out to many issues but thought i should uprate the block as i want it to last rather than going bang, thats why i was looking to build it to 450 so i have room to play with

what 450? very much doubt it if i did i think it would then be a stroker / 2.33 or 2.5ltr in all honesty i think the 400 ish mark is a very nice alround package for the road and occasional track day so i think it would stay as it was i just want it to be reliable so thinking to over build it to cover myself but also gives a little room if i decided to go further but that would need a ppg kit and funds are not able to go that far until the later part of next year

This is a SHORT engine cost, you send us your block, we machine it and supply and fit the new crank, rods and pistons with good quality bearings ready to pop your heads on and fit.
We can also carry out the whole job including removing and refitting should you wish.
As I said earlier, ring Alan and have a chat about your requirements.

Sorry, in answer to your last question, from my experience they would be good for 500hp+ all day long.

ok martin will give you a call to chat about it. Could you tell me what it would cost to build and refit the block

And tidgy the gearbox should be ok on a md321h as the torque should not be to much to kill it, but I have some cash coming early part of next year and the box will be changed for a six speeder unless I can get some more and get a Ppg kit

I think a 321 could kill your box with ease !

I'm currently tying up some loose ends with my plan for a 2.1 from Mr. Jeffery

Agree with Dunx, i think your box might struggle tbh, you never know though if you drive it with a LITTLE sympathy it may last a while..
