Fitting boost - oil temp and oil pressure guages in the morning advice needed please
Hi all, i am doing the above tomorrow and had a few general queries as follows:
The wires going into the back of the clock, which one is which? i.e positive negative etc
Whats the best place to tap the boost guage to / from?
Would you recommend using pte paste on the oil sender / adaptor plug or will it be ok?
any other hints or tips or advice or just general comments will also be appreciated haha
Cheers chris

If it's just the wiring for the illumination, then it doesn't matter which of the two wires goes to the live feed and which to ground, you just need to complete the loop. One wire needs to be grounded - either to the chassis via some handy nut, or by tapping into an earth feed - and the other tapped into a live feed. Popular places include the cigarette lighter, the clock, and the fog lamp switch, depending on gauge placement. The tricky bit is working out which wire to tap into, you'll want to find one that carries the illumination signal to the relevant part so that when, say, the fog light switch is illuminated then so is the gauge. I've got a wiring diagram that shows which pins on the various connector blocks carry the illumination and earth feeds, you can download it from .Mac - iDisk It shows, for example, that for the front fog light switch the illumination feed comes out of pin 4 of the connector block, and the ground comes out of pin 2. It should be the case, with the usual disclaimers offered - don't blame me if it goes wrong! - that if you tap into the wires coming out of pins 2 and 4 you'll be sorted. The diagram shows equivalent pins for the other likely take off points
