Default 2007 STI fuel pump

My 2007 STI cut out on local bypass, had it recovered to dealer, he thinks the fuel pump has packed up. Waiting until monday for a new one, is this a common fault?

Nothing off the top of my head but mine had a rare habit of juddering like the fuel was being starved doing a quick right left turn on low fuel.

Here's all stuff on fuel pump probs

Had the same issue on my 07 STI after I'd been on a Prodrive course lol! Fuel had to be around a quarter of a tank and the car completing a severe change of direction (think mine was a sustained right followed by a sharp left turn). Felt like someone had slammed the brakes on for a split second....

Was your issue on a straight and would it not restart?

Nope mine was only on right left turns on the power. If i kept my foot in it'd kick back in once it straightened up. I'm going to get a walbro fuel pump soon as an excuse then get it remapped in the new year

It was on a straight road duelcarrageway overtaking just cut out, wouldnt restart. The wife was driving she said she then had to try and cut back in to the curb.
Then had to wait two hours for Subaru recovery to turn up. The recovery driver looked like he had been rolling around in waist oil, so she wouldn't let him into the car. She steered it onto the truck herself. I will not be recomending Mondial recovery to anyone.
