ive recently bought a 98 plate sti,its boosting to 1.3 bar ,is this too much , if so what should it be running

 

Max boost should be 16psi or 1.1bar. Could be the really cold weather (dense air).

Could be that your car has got an aftermarket remapped ECU such as Apexi PFC or Simtek fitted - check under the passenger kickplate in the footwell (under carpet).

If your car is a MY99 (Sep 98 - Aug 99), then the OEM ECU could have been reflashed with an EcuTek remap instead...
