tappety sort of noise

hi just wondering if anyone can help i have a uk 2001 bugeye impreza and i have notice that between 3000 and 4000 rpm there is a tappety noise coming from the engine it still runs fine and it doesnt do it all the time but does anyone have any idea what it could be? thanks

Is it a WRX or STi matey?

It could be the injectors as they make a loud noise etc.
