Default which car??

hi all, im lookin at gettin another classic impreza within the next few months but not sure which 1 to go for. i used to have a wrx import but found i was spendin too much on petrol, so this time i was thinkin about goin for a lesser model like the turbo 2000. but then i wudnt have all the power i used to have. is there much difference in power and mpg between these cars

To be honest mate, if you are worried about fuel consumption, i would not get an impreza?

Earliest WRX's had 237bhp.

MY93-98 Turbo 2000, 208bhp.

MY99/00 Turbo 2000, 215bhp.

Thing to be aware of is that the UK car had longer gears and final drive compared to the WRX. So that further compounds the lack of acceleration compared to a WRX (but possibly a bit better fuel consumption).

What I suggest is to, perhaps, get the MY93 WRX Type RA. This is 30kg lighter than the WRX but still has 237bhp... and even shorter ratios and FD. So, okay, when you're hooning - and the acceleration should put a grin on your head - the shorter gearing will probably make the fuel consumption even worse than the WRX (let alone the Turbo 2000). Off boost though, not including yourself, you're only lugging around 1190kg (that's with fluids; 1170 'dry'), so should go to some way in averaging out the overall consumption.

Probably.

any impreza an fuel consumption is bad, best to close your eyes and just hand over the credit card to shell, haha.

my mate has a sport and it does 20mpg. and so does my wrx if you drive it like a fanny.

when you own an impreza the last thing you care about is fuel costs.

i'll sell you my 97wrx import. shes got a nice new 2.5 lump in her now. very very clean and nice car.
