Default Car not revving

Hi, just got my wrx type-ra today and the first problem is already here. On my way back all off a sudden the car didn't let me rev past 5krpm. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I'm really worried.. is it expensive to fix?
Any help really appreciated. Thanks

It goes into limp mode to protect itself. Maybe over-revved on the way home and it encountered a lot of det or other issue.

Is the Check Engine Light on? If so, get the fault code/s read.
