Default Slight Burning/Hot Smell

Alright. Im new to scoob ownership but i thought i would run this past you.

After i give the car a good prolonged boot. When i stop i can smell burning. Its its like almost burning but hot. I was thinking it may just be the smell of the turbo being uber hot, and then no air passing overit when at standstill.

Or possibly a slight leak fromt he zaust near the turbo.

Dont know what boost im getting as dont have a gauge yet. Also the car pull like a train. There is no big loss of power.

The alternative coul dbe the brakes. However sometimes i get the smell without really using the brakes that hard. Perhaps the brakes just get smelly hot faster than i thought. Previous car was a focus, i guess slowing from 50-0 is a hell of a lot less friction than equiv scooby speed -0.

As i say im pretty sure the car is tickety boo. Im just perfectionist and notice tiny things. The smell is not really pungent. most people cant even smell it

Default smell

you might want to check your coolant pipes, may be a slight leak under boost i have had it before and if you have a good mix of coolant when it hits anything hot it smells as you said a hot burning smell only needs to be a drop at a time onto exhaust mate ,could be the tinyest od leaks or a clip not quite tifght enough ....

Maybe check the d/side rocker gasket for an oil leak onto the exhaust. Common problem this, and it smells - but you do normally get a bit of smoke out the top of the bonnet vents to unless its very slight??

Bet it is one of the rocker covers prob drivers side as above says ,oil drips from rocker gasket and lands on exhaust collector pipe and burns stinking car out very common prob just need to change rocker gasket and 2 spark plug gaskets and new washers for all the bolts get the kit from subaru not a copy one as they leak , make sure every thing clean and smear small amount of three bond high temp sealer on gasket before fitting .

No visible signs of smoke. It is really a slight smell and only when booted then come to a halt. (with engine still running ofc)
