Two 't' pieces, a couple meters of 8mm hose, hose clamps, a fuel rail adaptor to replace the regulator (you can cut the rails in the other three positions), and the regulator. All of which i got from ebay.
You can go a lot more expensive with an- fitting rails, fittings ect, it's up to you!

FSEIH001 8MM HIGH PRESSURE HOSE 5 METRES @ £3.55 PER METRE

FSEMTP002 METAL T-PIECE 5/16 BARBED ENDS 2 @ £3.40 EACH

LMA328 13MM PETROL PIPE CLIPS 12 @ 40P EACH

From demon tweeks, i think their prices have gone up now though, dont forget you need the rail adaptor to take the place of the oe reg (look on carl daveys website).

Thats identical to mine, only i used stainless braided hose. Painted the inlet too!!
It really is an easy job, i made some inlet tufnol insulators, and ditched the breathers too, which helps clear space for the new fuel lines.

Its the cheapest way, i wouldnt say the best way, but it does work fine on my car as well as many others, i just double clipped the hose on to make sure.
Cut the metal pipe down with a mini pipe slice, as long as possible to keep length for the 2 clips.

I assumed you meant fuel pipes, not fuel rails?

Right...
Once the inlets off, cut the metal lines that attach to the fuel rails giving enough to attach the new hose.
Then, remove all the metal pipes, fuel and vacume.
You will have a hose that comes from the passenger side bulkhead, which is the tank vent line, just run this down towards the bottom of the engine.
The carbon canister which sits behind the drivers head light can now be removed(this goes to the small metal pipes removed from under the manifold).
Your car may have a purge valve under the manifold, if it does just remove the pipes, but leave it electrically connected so as no to get a cel.
The thin pipe that goes to the throttle body needs to be blanked off.
And breath.....

I have a mind to parallel-mod my line with manifold in-situ.
A Y or T piece to split ingoing fuel to OE feed and to OE return after OE fuel reg. And a T-piece where there is a short stretch of hose just after (UK) passenger-side forward injector, to fuel reg.
This would feed No3 cylinder with cold(er) fuel and mean mimimal rerouting and no permanent damage.
Are there any downsides to this method?

Im having dificulty seeing what you mean.
Will the OE fuel reg still be bolted to the rail? To parallel it you would need to remove it, and put a 'T' on it to supply both rails.

Ah, I have an Sard FPR, an adaptor from injector by turbo, W/ hose to returnpipe.
But I'm not sure the short length of hose I have after inejctor No2 are OE.
Now: fuel-filter - hose - inj. 1 & 2 - (pipe) - short hose -(pipe) inj. 3 & 4 -adaptor (hose, pipe) -hose - FPR - hose to return to tank.
I plan to split supply hose and feed both inj 1 and inj 4 via OE feed/OE return backwards.
And I'll take return from where the short length of hose is situated, after (feed-wise) inj No2, and lead that directly to my FRP.

As long as Both fuel rails have the same feed as you say, and they both return via the sard fuel reg then you'll be fine. I have the sard reg too, i fitted it by the aircon (see my profile pic).
