Unhappy flashing check engine light

took car out for run last night and when i pulled up at traffic lights car started back firing quite loud.
Took car out again today all seemed o.k went to go home and check engine light came on and went again almost straight away but happened twice in about 5 mins ,it is a 99 v6 type r .
Could some one tell me is this something to be concerned with and what is the possible cause.
Much Appreciated

Where about's are you? If you're close enough I'll bring some diagnostics along and we'll see what has been logged.

You're a bit too South for me to meet up! If you are around the Pershore area next weekend, let me know.

Good possibility it'll be the MAF mate, there a weak link on the later cars i'm afraid. AFAIK there approx £90 from a dealer. Neil.
