Exclamation NEW GASKET AND/OR SEALANT ???

I've just acquired a Zero Sports 71deg C opening coolant thermostat. I know it's an easy job to replace i.e. disconnect bottom hose to the housing... undo the housing's 2x 10mm bolts... remove old stat.

However, before fitting the new stat, do I need a new gasket that would get sandwiched between the housing and block flanges - or isn't there one?!

If there is one, where do I get it from and do I need to use a sealant with it? What sealant is it?

If there is no gasket, do I still need to use the sealant anyhow?

Just a smear of grease on the thermostat O ring to help it seat into the waterpump and use sealant on the housing face to seal it.

Any light grease will do (or vaseline) and most people use 3Bond 1215 sealant for the housing face.

Thanks, Yeah I've seen that 3bond 1215 mentioned a few times. Do specialists have it or could I pop to Halfords/B&Q?

From memory when i bought mine, it was just the thermostat, no additional flanges or rubber washers.

It didn't come out all that easy though lol, a little gentle coaxing with a flat-head if i remember, and then a face full of coolant..
