NEW GASKET AND/OR SEALANT ???
I've just acquired a Zero Sports 71deg C opening coolant thermostat. I know it's an easy job to replace i.e. disconnect bottom hose to the housing... undo the housing's 2x 10mm bolts... remove old stat.
However, before fitting the new stat, do I need a new gasket that would get sandwiched between the housing and block flanges - or isn't there one?!
If there is one, where do I get it from and do I need to use a sealant with it? What sealant is it?
If there is no gasket, do I still need to use the sealant anyhow?

From memory when i bought mine, it was just the thermostat, no additional flanges or rubber washers.
It didn't come out all that easy though lol, a little gentle coaxing with a flat-head if i remember, and then a face full of coolant..
