Default Prodrive ECU

Will a Prodrive (2002 WRX) ECU slot straight into a 2004 WRX and improve the performance (hp, lag, lbft, throttle response) or will it need to be installed, mapped etc by someone clued up in the art of such things with a rolling road etc.

Or is something like this a distinctly bad idea altogether ?

I was going to do this a while ago mate, will raise the boost by 0.2 bar, gives you a little more power/torque too.

As far as im aware you will need your keys recoded to the new ecu, the prodrive/samco y intercooler pipe and a less restrictive backbox.

Hope this helps!

You wouldn't happen to have picture of your prodrive ecu, i'm just trying to prove that mine is a prodrive one as i'm only running standard wrx power but i have the intercooler hose, back box and certificate, been told by my local subaru garage that it should be marked up prodrive on the ecu but i can't see this on mine.

Cheers

Dave
