hi peeps,my wagon appears to have a problem with the heating system,im not sure if it may be sticking thermostat or problem with actually hear so i thought id ask you guys with experience,
if i let the car tick over the temp gauge stays just under half and blows lovely warm air, however if im driving the temp gauge goes to prob 1/3 to a 1/4 on the gauge but only blows cold air,ive lifted the bonnet and my top hose is hot on tickover, anybody have any ideas please if so what and if an easy job
many thanks gav
Sounds like it might not even have a thermostat in it, check to see if it has not been removed. ( requires draining the coolant, and removing the stat housing)
yes coolant level is fine although i was going to drain and do a 70/30 antifreeze mix{af being the 30} the thermostate housing looks a nightmate to get at any easy way or anyone with pics plz?
ive noticed on other cars ive had that you can buy different temperature stats is this the same on scoobys and if so anyone know the best one to get?
many thanks

LOL! Only about 45mins ago the postie delivered a Zero Sports one (from mark@lateralperformance.co.uk, £45 + VAT).
It opens at 71deg C (instead of the OEM one's 78), so should keep ave temps down (my WRX temps are slightly higher than normal , hence the purchase ).
Oh and yes, I expect your stat is stuck in the open position or, as has been mentioned, not present for some reason .
Yes that is correct and dont buy the cheap crap off ebay, as you will end up buying twice. Do it once and get a zerosports thermostat from Mark @ Lateral performance
