Default oil filter + oil

is it best to buy the filter from a subaru dealer,what oil should i be using in an 04 wrx that only gets used maybe once a week.

As your car is out of warrenty you could use an aftermarket filter although if you have a dealer close by it's logical to get one there.
What oil do you normally use? A good quality 5/40 synthetic would be perfect such as Millers CFS or Silkolene Pro S If you normally use a semi-synthetic then 10/40 would suit.

only just bought the car,never had a subaru before so i am trying to get as much advice as possible. i wont be using the car everyday if this makes any difference to what oil i should use

I just use morris oils 5/40 fully synthetic in mine with a genuine oil filter, change twice a year should be fine

Question

Sorry to hijack but have just been on the opie wesite and have a 96 import wrx, the oil service packs they have only state a uk turbo 2000 for this age, was wondering if the oil filter would be the same?

Phone Opie oilz and speak to guy, he should give you some top advice, jsut got a really good deal on silkoline oil.....2 for £70...they currently have 15% so check them out
