Default DCCD problem

Hi all,

I have a MY98 Type R. Obviously its got the DCCD. When i flick it to orange ie more pwer on the rear wheels than the front i cannot seem to turn the wheel after a certain point. There is juddering and aparently someone before said that it winds up the 4wd system??

Has anyone else had problems with this before if so how bad is it and how concerned should i be??

Many thanks in advance guys

you get more power to the rear when the dccd is totaly unlocked
what your describing sounds like having the dccd some way locked up and you do feel that through the steering in tight turns and the wheels will skip/graunch ect my car does it so do most others from what iv read here so it cant be too much to worry about

I take it this is at slow speed? If so that's what will happen.

It's not a good idea to increase the lock on the center diff and do a slow tight turn on dry tarmac.
It's fine if you are going faster or are on a loose surface, as the wheels can slip a bit.
If you want to do a slow tight turn, either turn the diff to open or pull the handbrake a fraction just so the light comes on, as this automatically opens the diff.
