Default block back from machining

just got my block back from machining .5 oversize. there doesnt seem to be the hone marks on there that it had when i sent it away. the hone marks had a sorta patern in the bore. now i have the same depth honme like marks, but look like they are from drilling.

is this ok 2 fit bearings and pistons etc as it seems it has its key ready, but not as a expected it to look now its back.

Honing should leave a "cross hatched" pattern. can you post a picture ?

I have never seen new pistons or rings fitted to a block that has not been honed. Have a word with your machine shop. The purpose of honing is to allow the rings and cylinder bore to bed in.

The depth and angles of the cross hatch can sometimes vary a little depending on machine shop and machines used. If the bores has been oversized there will be no doubt the bores will have a cross hatching pattern although this does not necessarily have to be exactly the same as before. If you’re in doubt post some photos and mentioned above.
