Default What aftermarket pre-mapped ECU for Ver 3 STi?

Hi, I have a friend living overeas and I want to find him an ECU that he can plug-'n-play fit into his Ver 3 STi. Where he lives there are no mappers so he has all the following with a stock ecu:
Full stainless steel decat exhaust system 3"
- Stainless steel headers & up-pipe (heat wrapped)
- VF 28 turbo
- Lightweight flywheel
- Lightweight cam pulleys
- 255lph Sytec fuel pump
- 440 injectors (Std in sti classic)
- Silicon intercooler,turbo & radiator hoses
- Zero sports stainless steel induction kit
- Forge recirc DV
- Iridium spark plugs
- Apexi coil overs (adjustable dampening)
- 4 point under brace
- rear diff brace
- Stainless steel braided brake hoses
- Sti Subaru 4 pots w/ black diamond race pads
- 1.3 bar radiator cap
- HKS boost guage
- HKS turbo timer

What ecu can we get that can be mapped for this and sent out and plugged in?

Nice challenge !!

Peter

I would have though none tbh as most ecus are most useful when mapped live.
You could speak to people like Zen Performance (ZEN Performance - Performance upgrade solutions for Japanese cars - Subaru & Mitsubishi Specialists Jolly Green monster (www.jollygreenmonster.co.uk)

doubtfull that anybody will do a proper power map and then post it out, is the car running crap on the above mods?

my v3 wrx ran fine on slightly more mods then that with the stock ecu, using a MBC to control the boost.

nothing really in that list would cause a problem apart from the boost controller if it is set to high IMO.

as long as its not detting or anything like that

Sounds like a good reason for him to learn to map his own car

No he says it is running well but I was trying to figure out how we could optimise it for him.

where overseas?

It is not unusual for a mapper to arrange a holiday and map a few cars in the area if he has mates.

simtek, gems, hydra, solaris, motec, link ....

The problem will be you need someone to map it on the car.

Peter,

It could be done, BUT he would need:
A mappable ecu.
Some way of monitoring for det (knocklink type device) - which he should really have anyway if making changes without remapping.
A mapper who is prepared send him a safe map to load (sure it will be an improvement over the stock map, but won't be optimised for timing, etc. so will never make maximum power).

OR as Dynamix says ... get a Wideband O2 and learn to map it himself.
