Default FPR lying down OK?

I monuted my Sard FPR in a lying down position today, as the top ended up 'in the hood' when it was positioned standing up.
Will this cause me any problems/do I have to find a standing up solution?
How are they constructed inside anyway?

/Adam

Pressure is fed to a diaphragm inside, so as boost rises so does fuel pressure, doesn't matter which way up it is really, as it has a spring inside.

imho

SX regulator instructions state their regs should be located upright i.e. with the internal spring located vertically. Not sure what their reason is, but maybe over many years of operation there is some uneven wear in the components if located on its side (spring, diaphragm etc).... optimum position is therefore vertical.

There's a strong possibility my SX reg has failed due to non-vertical positioning... am replacing it tomorrow so will know for sure if it's failed.

Unlikely you'll have an issue but probably best to locate as recommended if you can. HTH

Thanks both of you!
Looks like it'll be 'as is' until soon... (any of these days!)
Figured out a way to lower it 1-2 cm last night, might be enough...
