Magnex decat centre fit question
I've just fitted a magnex decat centre section. I noticed the flange on the cat end (the one that is not welded to the pipe, just sits up to the flared part) does not mate up to the flange on the down pipe. Is this normal?
The flared part goes nicely round the down pipe though.

The flared 'bowl'-like end is designed to accept an OEM 2 3/8" sized wire wool 'donut' gasket.
One end of the gasket is round and tapered so as to snugly fit into the bowl of the centre section. The other side is flat to fit the flat flange of the downpipe. So the combo of the roundness of the gasket and the 'free' centre pipe's flange means that the union acts like a UV joint, so the exhaust sytsem can easily be angled to its correct fitting position, whilst still retaining a gas-tight seal.

Where would I get one of these gaskets from?
Is it only magnex that have the flange loose? All the other pictures I have seen have welded ones.
cheers

My 3" Cobra system has the same (I thought that was indeed the OEM setup)
Here's that gasket (cheapest on eBay)...
