Have just finished my engine rebuild and run it in.
Have skimmed the flywheel and just fitted an exedy 5 paddle clutch.
At the very top of the clutch fork/lever there is a bracket where a spring is mounted to a bracket on the block - it appears to be there to take free play out of the pedal. There was a square metal spacer attached to this bracket which has been removed.
Problem is the clutch slips really badly as soon as any reasonable boost is applied. I have done los of gearchanges without revs during the last 150 miles - no revs over 3.5k.
Any ideas - I am at Brands on Thursday and need this sorting!
The car is a 1993 type RA
Has anyone else got a spring attached at the top, or the square metal bit and if so, can you post a photo so I can see how mine should be?
Thanks!

Not being funny but did you clean the surfaces of the plates before you put them in? I fitted new clutch last week and took a few miles to bed it in also. I have never had the spring on the clutch lever before although i went and bought one from subaru to eliminate it from my slipping.
After a while the clutch bedded in fine.
